Q: Should I refuse acceptance of damaged items?

In most cases, do not refuse the entire shipment solely because one or more items appear damaged. Instead, inspect the shipment carefully and document all visible damage before signing the carrier's Bill of Lading (BOL) or delivery receipt. Clearly note damaged cartons, cabinets, panels, or other products on the BOL or delivery receipt. Use specific descriptions such as "Box Damage / Product Damage" and identify the affected items whenever possible. Take photographs of the damaged packaging and products, including both wide-angle and close-up views. Keep all packaging and damaged materials until the claim has been resolved. If the shipment is severely damaged, appears unsafe to unload, or the carrier advises you to refuse all or part of the delivery, contact The RTA Shop as soon as possible for guidance. Important: Signing for a shipment without noting visible damage may make a freight claim more difficult or prevent the claim from being approved.

What if I entered the wrong shipping address?

Please contact The RTA Shop immediately if you entered an incorrect shipping address.

If the order has not yet been submitted to the manufacturer, distributor, or carrier, we may be able to update the address without difficulty. Once an order has been released, scheduled, or shipped, an address change may no longer be possible.

If an address change is approved after the order has been processed or shipped, the manufacturer or carrier may charge reconsignment, redelivery, handling, storage, rerouting, or other applicable fees. Any such charges may be passed through to the customer.

Customers are responsible for reviewing and confirming the shipping address before placing the order.

Yes, local pickup may be available depending on the cabinet manufacturer, fulfillment location, and your delivery address.

Our checkout system automatically determines whether pickup is available based on your location. Pickup is generally offered only when the delivery address is within approximately 100 miles of an applicable distributor or fulfillment center.

If pickup is available for your order, you will see it as a shipping option during checkout. Availability can vary by manufacturer, product line, and fulfillment location.

When will my order ship?

Shipping and production times vary by manufacturer, product line, order size, inventory availability, and whether the cabinets are RTA, factory-assembled, in stock, or special order.

Some in-stock RTA cabinet orders may ship within a few business days. Special-order door styles, factory-assembled cabinets, modified products, backordered items, and other made-to-order products may require several weeks or longer depending on the manufacturer.

For example, certain manufacturers offer both stocked cabinet styles and special-order finishes with substantially different lead times. Any estimated lead time shown on the applicable product page or provided with your quote should be used as the current estimate for that product.

Estimated ship dates are based on information available when your order is confirmed and remain subject to manufacturer inventory, production schedules, payment status, order approval, and carrier availability.

Once tracking or delivery information becomes available, The RTA Shop will provide it to you. Estimated ship and delivery dates are not guaranteed and may change due to circumstances outside our control.

Shipping method depends on the cabinet manufacturer, order size, delivery location, and available fulfillment options.

Smaller RTA cabinet orders and individual items may ship by FedEx or UPS. Larger RTA orders are generally shipped by LTL freight. Residential LTL deliveries are typically curbside and generally include liftgate service so the shipment can be lowered from the truck.

Fabuwood factory-assembled cabinet orders are handled differently. Fabuwood may deliver using its own delivery trucks. These deliveries are typically tailgate deliveries, meaning the driver brings the cabinets to the rear of the truck and the receiver is responsible for unloading them. Customers must have enough people available to unload the shipment promptly.

Available shipping methods and rates are calculated based on your order, manufacturer, and delivery location. When applicable, FedEx/UPS, LTL freight, or local pickup options may be shown during checkout.

Delivery method depends on the cabinet manufacturer and shipping service used for your order.

Most RTA cabinet orders shipped by LTL freight are delivered curbside. Residential LTL shipments generally include liftgate service so the shipment can be lowered from the truck, but the driver is not responsible for carrying cabinets into your home, garage, or other building.

Fabuwood factory-assembled cabinet orders may be delivered on a Fabuwood truck using tailgate delivery. With tailgate delivery, the driver brings the cabinets to the rear of the truck and the receiver is responsible for unloading them. Customers should have enough people available to unload the shipment promptly.

FedEx and UPS deliveries are handled according to the carrier's normal delivery procedures and may vary based on package size, location, and service level.

Unless specifically stated otherwise in writing, customers should plan to move cabinets from the delivery point into the residence or building themselves.
